Functional Therapeutic Exercise: In the past few years there has been a revolution in thought relative to rehabilitative exercise programs. Research has shown that more often than not, painless dysfunction in the muscular system will result in pain and symptoms. These dysfunctions are detectable as faulty movement patterns exhibited by the patient during simple screening tests and postural evaluations performed in our office. The exercises we utilize are not the standard '3 sets of 10 reps' that were a staple of gym goers and athletic trainers of the past. These exercises are not really physically strenuous, as they emphasize quality of movement, not quantity. In other words, the benefits derived from proper form far exceed the cosmetic benefits of more sets, reps and weight. Basically working out does not improve muscle balance when individual muscles are isolated.
Spinal decompression: Spinal decompression is a non-surgical, traction based treatment for herniated or bulging discs in the neck and low back. Anyone who has back, neck, arm or leg pain caused by degenerated or damaged discs may be helped by spinal decompression. These conditions include herniated or bulging discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, facet syndrome, spondylosis, or even failed spinal surgery. The treatments, in almost all cases, are completely painless.
Graston Technique: This technique is performed with patented stainless-steel instruments designed to detect and treat soft-tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation in order to reduce pain and restore function. When connective tissue, such as muscles, ligaments or tendons become restricted or scarred, it can result in pain, tenderness, loss of flexibility and motion. Treatment may also include the use of heat, ice, muscle re-education and rehabilitation exercises to restore patients to their pre-injury level of activity.
Spinal Manipulation: Spinal manipulation, also called spinal adjustment or SMT, has been the cornerstone of Chiropractic care since its beginnings in 1895. It's what distinguishes Chiropractic from other physical medicine disciplines and makes it unique. It's what, in many cases, provides immediate relief of back, neck an extremity pain. It's safety and effectiveness have been verified again and again in multiple peer reviewed scientific publications as being superior to other methods of treatment. When combined with other modalities that we offer, treatment plans that used to take 6-8 weeks are dramatically reduced, usually to 6-8 visits sometimes even less.
